The number of restaurants in the beautiful village of Monsaraz is rather limited but we managed to have a table for dinner at Os Amigos de Monsaraz and the experience was great. We shared a delicious bruscheta to begin with and had the Risoto Cogumelos as main. We ordered local Alentejo red wine which was a perfect match with our food. Service was discreet and professional. We would return if and when we visit Monsaraz again.

Brilliant food. Both had braised pigs cheeks, me with rice & chips & Mrs Mac had it with Risotto. We shared a starter, both had a main course and dessert (cheesecake)+ obligatory bottle of house red. €66. Atmosphere marked down only due to us being the only people in the restaurant. It was early (Med countries tend to eat later!) and it was 17 December. Certainly would return if in the area & very recommended.

Great food & views! Go sit up in the terrace. That’s the view from my seat. My bruschetta with sausage was great as was the pork cheek. I’m happy.

Risoto was amazing, very authentic flavors , the pasta was good too but is not a traditional plate , my wife was just craving pasta . and the restaurant itself has such a great vibe and atmosphere with historic pictures and landmark.

Charming place and excellent food! The restaurant is in a beautifully decorated traditional house, with elegant vibes. All the dishes that we tried were very tasty and with local flavours. I did not expect the wines to be so good.

Delicious food (including several vegetarian options, which isn't common in the region), very friendly (and incredibly fast) service, beautiful ambiance and their own ceramic plates and cups (made by the chef himself, I think). Amazing find, highly recommend it.
